Simple Pleasures Hat in Quince and Co Finch

Starting a Simple Pleasures Hat in Quince and Co Finch and Lichen and Lace Marsh Mohair. We’ve knit many of these hats over the years but Purl Soho has updated the pattern and we’re trying out the new mods with this yummy yarn combo.

Morning Walk Hat Knit

Coffee and hat knitting to start this rainy day. Monarch Knitting‘s Morning Walk Hat is the best combination of stretchy 1 x 1 rib (wear cuffed or slouched) in a double strand of the amazingly soft Woolfolk fingering (Tynd/Sno). Aptly named, it’s the hat we grab for our morning walks. Pattern available on Hi.ravelry.

Tincture Hat Knitting

It’s that time of year for hat knitting and we fell in love with Drearenee knits Tincture hat. The slip stitch pattern is so easy and fun to knit and gives the hat a vintage look. We chose a combination of Quince and Co Chickadee and Chickadee Organic Heathers and added a pom pom for a soft, cozy, cute hat that fits nicely with just a bit of slouch.

Two New Purl Soho Garter Ear Flap Hat's

Two super-cute hats—baby and child size. For the newborn baby cap we shortened the top depth by decreasing every other row. Child size knit per pattern. Pattern: Purl Soho Garter Ear Flap Hat. Yarn: Rosy Green Wool Big Merino Hug.

Yucca Blossom Hat Pattern

Hat weather is on its way. For this quick knit with a bit of colour work we used Quince and Co Chickadee in Honey and Chickadee Organic Heather in Torne. Pattern is Yucca Blossom from Makingzine Issue 9/Simple, now on discount at the shop.

The best hat! We used 2 skeins of Shibui Knits Pebble and 1 skein Silk Cloud. Weighing the leftovers shows adding one more skein of Pebble will make two hats. The pattern has updated versions.

This cute beret knits up quickly in the amazingly soft Woolfolk Yarn Flette DK. We used the Salut Cherie Beret pattern by Sari Nordlund + 1 skein Flette in the deep eggplant colour No. 20.

Simple Pleasures Hat

Simple Pleasures, one of our favourite hat patterns—weightless, warm, with adjustable amount of slouch. Alex used double-stranded June Cashmere Lace for the ribbed portion and Cashmere Lace + Shibui Knits Silk Cloud for the rest of the hat. Yummy!
