Church Mouse Yarns Family Slippers Pattern
Another cute slipper pattern, Family Slippers, from Church Mouse Yarns. We combined chunky weight Quince and Co. Osprey with a strand of mohair/silk for a cozy squishy slipper you’ll never want to take off! Pictured in size small, the slipper looks tiny but is quite stretchy and fits W 6 shoe size foot. We got gauge on a 5.5 mm needle (pattern recommends 5 to 5.5 mm depending on yarn and knitting style). Our next pair will have colourful pom poms!

Coffee and hat knitting to start this rainy day. Monarch Knitting‘s Morning Walk Hat is the best combination of stretchy 1 x 1 rib (wear cuffed or slouched) in a double strand of the amazingly soft Woolfolk fingering (Tynd/Sno). Aptly named, it’s the hat we grab for our morning walks. Pattern available on Hi.ravelry.
Learn more »Baba Tree Baskets Nyarigas and Rounds in Store
Available in-store on the weekend— Baba Tree Baskets Nyarigas (2 handles with sloped sides) and Rounds (single handle) in various sizes snd design motifs. These beautifully crafted artisan baskets are perfect for yarn and knitting project management and so much better than bags when grocery shopping. While many vendors of African-made baskets can be found in other shops and on-line, the baskets from our friends at Baba Tree are special? Why? Because the Baba Tree weavers of Bolgatanga northern Ghana produce the best quality baskets and are paid a fair wage for their work. Because money paid for these baskets goes directly into the hands of the weavers, enriching their lives and ours. Because using a strong, well-made and long-lasting basket reduces the need for plastic and paper shopping bags and other unnecessary packaging materials. What more can we say—these hand-made, beautiful and utilitarian baskets are the best! Only available in-store (sorry, we are not able to ship due to size and shipping costs).

Learn more »Half Finished Fingerless Gloves
This morning’s perfect cold crisp weather is just right for fingerless gloves. Unfortunately only one glove is finished! We’ll be getting 3 pair of these cozy gloves from a 100g skein of Quince and Co Crane, a luxurious warm blend of mohair and merino (one glove weighs 14g). Pattern can be linked through Ravelry, search “75 Yard Malabrigo Fingerless Gloves”. We like our gloves to fit snuggly and hold their shape with extended wearing so we knit this pattern on smaller needles: 3.5 and 4mm for a stockinette gauge of 20 sts = 4” on 4mm needles and the fit is perfect (note: no gauge is given in the pattern). Choosing a main needle with a gauge of 20 sts/4” should give a good fit for medium sized hand.
