Sock Yarn Celebration Part 1
Koigu is the perfect sock yarn. Plied for durability and hand-dyed in a painter's palette of saturated colours, this lightweight merino wool has a soft silky hand and a unique springiness and elasticity.
Koigu is also a favourite for scarves, shawls, sweaters and blankets. Try Hannah Fettig's Sock Yarn Sweater knit in Koigu at a relaxed gauge, the Koigu Linen Stitch Scarf, a simple garter stitch shawlette in graded colours, and, of course, the iconic double-stranded Big Bad Baby Blanket (we've knit many!). Hmmm, the choices are endless.
Today we opened bags of sock yarn and our wall is now adorned with over 100 shades of Koigu. We love the rich, complex colours and subtle shifts in tone of the semi-solid KPM, and the brilliant mixes of the KPPPM variegated colourways. Each skein contains 176 yards of 100% merino wool and 2 skeins makes a pair of socks.
