The Girl is Knitting a Striped Baby Blanket

The Girl is knitting a baby blanket for our newly pregnant friend. She chose the Churchmouse Picot-Edge Blanket, a simple garter-stitch pattern knit from corner to corner, based on the washcloths our grannies used to make. The pattern includes a picot edge to dress it up or it can be left unadorned. The Girl is knitting the "plain edge" option. Make it small in cotton or linen and you have a washcloth, or just keep on knitting for a grown-up throw or afghan. And best of all, this versatile pattern is written for three gauges (DK, Worsted and Chunky) so your yarn choices are virtually unlimited!
