Have you always wanted to learn how to spin? Â Join our series of Drop Spindle Workshops and learn how to use this amazingly simple tool to create one-of-a-kind handspun yarns suitable for knitting, crochet and weaving. Â No previous spinning experience is necessary. Â The first workshop will introduce the basics of spindle mechanics and drafting fibre to create a single-ply yarn. Â A Â few weeks later, after you've had time to practice, you'll attend the second workshop. This session will focus on refining skills to increase productivity and learning various ways to ply singles together on the spindle.

Cost: Â $120 plus materials
Materials: Â Drop spindle (high or low whorl); 4 ounces of medium grade wool roving or top; approx. 10 yds of commercially plied fingering or lace weight yarn strong enough to support the weight of your spindle (sock yarn is ideal).
