Remixing with Twig

Shibui Twig

Shibui Twig

A few weeks ago we unveiled our Racing Raindrops Scarf in Shibui Twig, a delightful blend of linen and recycled silk. The perfect accessory for our recent warm weather, this scarf has been getting a lot of wear. And just when we've been contemplating other patterns to use with Twig, the creative folks at Shibui have offered a few suggestions using their "mix" philosophy--combining yarns to create new fabric, weight and drape.

Shibui Twig + Silk Cloud in the Mix No. 3 Shawl

This lovely geometric wrap, highlighted with transparent striping, was originally conceived in a wintry mix of fingering weight merino plus a  mohair/silk blend. Shibui has reintroduced the shawl in a mix of Twig and Silk Cloud, perfect for cool summer evenings or transitional weather.   2 skeins Twig + 1 skein Silk Cloud, shown in Apple.

Mix No. 4 in Shibui Twig

Mix No. 4, a ribbed wrap originally designed as a cozy winter accessory, has been given a new look and feel for the summer season in Twig--light and airy with beautiful drape. 5 to 6 skeins Twig, knit with a single strand. If you would like an amazingly soft and weightless shawl with a bit of added warmth, consider a mix of Twig plus Silk Cloud (example here on Ravelry).
