We have so many knitted blankets at our house, small ones from when The Girl and The Boy were babies, and bigger sized as they grew. Â But you can never have too many blankets, and the kids love bright colours, so we're knitting one in Kauni EQ (the famous rainbow colourway).
  Â
We've chosen the Churchmouse  Baby Blanket pattern for this project, with the picot-edge option seen on the right.  We love the springiness of garter stitch knit at a loose gauge (5.5mm needles on the lofty fingering-weight Kauni) and the lacy effect of the picot-edge border.  We'll be using two balls of Kauni for a large "couch-cuddling" blanket.  So far we're 50 grams into a 140 gram ball.
