Makingzine’s Hope Cardigan in Holstgarn Coast

One of our favourite sweaters, Makingzine’s Hope Cardigan, needed washing so we decided to put it through the washer and dryer. It was knit with a double strand of holstgarn Coast, a wool/cotton blend that went through this washing treatment beautifully on our swatch. We used the wool cycle in our front-loader with a capful of Twig and Horn Wool Soap and then into the dryer on moderate heat. And wow! The result is fabulous! The fabric, soft to begin with, became even softer and loftier, with a lovely cottony feel. So we recommend Coast, knit single as a fingering weight or double as a DK, for easy care baby and kids’ wear.
