The Girl needed a knitted cape and we settled on Capuchon, the perfect "Red Riding Hood" design. We used 7 balls of the soft and squishy Blackstone Tweed Chunky to knit the 6-8 year size.  With it's generous hood and full cape, this should fit for many years. The raspberry stitch was such fun to knit and created a beautiful border.  Using sharp-tipped needles makes knitting stitch patterns like this a lot easier--we used 6 mm Addi Turbo Lace circulars. We love the peaked hood.  Cape is knit top down starting at neck edge with a provisional cast on.  The live stitches are then picked up to knit the hood.  This pattern would be easily customizable for other yarn weights or to upsize for an adult version.
