The Girl needed a knitted cape and we settled on Capuchon, the perfect "Red Riding Hood" design.
We used 7 balls of the soft and squishy Blackstone Tweed Chunky to knit the 6-8 year size. Â With it's generous hood and full cape, this should fit for many years.
The raspberry stitch was such fun to knit and created a beautiful border.  Using sharp-tipped needles makes knitting stitch patterns like this a lot easier--we used 6 mm Addi Turbo Lace circulars.
We love the peaked hood. Â Cape is knit top down starting at neck edge with a provisional cast on. Â The live stitches are then picked up to knit the hood. Â This pattern would be easily customizable for other yarn weights or to upsize for an adult version.
