A sampling from out hat basket--here's one of our favourites.
Teo, a great kid's earflap hat, knit in super soft and cozy Malabrigo Rasta. Other yarn possibilities include Cascade Magnum and Blue Sky Alpacas Outer (a super-wash alternative). This is a quick one-evening project and it will be the go-to hat for your wee one all winter. Comes in sizes small and large, also could be upsized or downsized by changing needle size (we used 8mm).
