We decided to add a lacey border to our Koigu shawl, following Cheryl Oberle’s Wool Peddler’s Shawl design from her book Folk Shawls.


We started the lace border near the end of the third skein of Koigu and continued with eight pattern repeats.


Here’s the unblocked shawl, finished with eight rows of garter stitch (4 garter ridges).


And here she is, lightly blocked (soaked in Eucalan, wrapped in a towel to remove excess moisture, and gently spread out on the blocking board, no pinning).
