Exploring The Possibilities of Moeke Yarns

We're just starting to explore the possibilities of our newest yarns--Moeke Romanian Merino, Heritage and Elena. As a first project, we've cast on for the beautifully textured Ioana Shawl. Moeke, however, requires a little TLC before beginning to knit.  Here's what we do to prepare this rustic yarn . . .   

Gather supplies:  Eucalan wool wash, bowl or basin, tepid water, skeined yarn and a towel

Remove skein from soaking basin (no need to rinse), gently squeeze out excess water and lay out on a towel

Hang to dry, then wind into a ball and start knitting!

Fill bowl with tepid water and a capful of Eucalan, submerge skein of yarn and allow to soak for 15 minutes

Roll up in the towel and press to remove as much moisture as possible
