We’ve been away for a short vacation in Toronto (shop’s still open!) and, with a bit of extra knitting time, managed to finish yet another Wool Peddler Shawl (our third, actually, but this one without the lace border—just miles and miles of peaceful garter stitch).

Kael tried it on for us this morning at Trinity Bellwoods Park . . .

The shawl provided just the right amount of extra warmth for the crazy five minute rain showers we’ve been having here all week.

Pattern: Wool Peddler Shawl from Folk Shawls
Yarn: Elsebeth Lavold Silky Wool, 3 skeins MC, 2 skeins CC
Mods: We knit the triangle in garter stitch with 3 skeins of MC, then began the ruffle with an increase row of K2, M1 in CC and continued the garter stitch triangle until 2 skeins were used up. Shawl is shown unblocked.

We’ve also made some progress on our February Lady Sweater

Here’s a view from the back (sleeve stitches on waste yarn for knitting later)—hurray, no seams!

Detail of the lovely Gull lace—the afternoon light was perfect for capturing the beautiful “Chinatown Apple” colourway.

Happy Summer Solstice! We’re back on Wednesday.
