The Reason I Like Knitting
I like to knit because
The smell of warmth
Coming from the yarn
Is peaceful.
It reminds me
Of my grandparents’ houses.
The many staircases and windows
In Grumpy and Grinky’s house
And the soft armchairs
And mysterious closets
at Grandma’s house.
It reminds me of cold spring mornings
And hot summer days,
Of chilly autumn breezes
And quiet winter nights.
It reminds me of love.
The golden hoop that never
Loses its power.
