Beginner Sweater Class: Baby Owlet

Class Description:

Learn simple sweater construction on a child sweater wrap a loved one in warmth to wear on a walk in the woods, around the campfire at night or on a chilly evening stroll down Spanish Banks.

This class has knitting time to make the baby owlet only and not the adult sizes.

In this class we will cover many topics exploring bottom-up sweater construction, which include, but is not limited to, how to read a basic cable chart, working on cables, knitting sleeves in the round on double-pointed needles or using the magic loop method.

Level of experience needed:  knowledge of casting on, the knit and purl stitches, as well as, simple decreases and/or increases.

Cost:

$100 plus materials

Materials:

Worsted weight yarn such as Sweet Georgia Worsted, Berrocco Ultra Wool or Studio Donegal in amounts per size.

5mm and 4.5 mm 16" needles (or size needed to obtain gauge- we will cover gauge in the first class)

5mm and 4.5 mm double-pointed needles (or 40" circulars for magic loop method- we will discuss the various choices in class)

stitch markers, darning needles
