Class Description:

Scared of dropping stitches or coming across something that goes against your knitting instinct and having to unravel all of your hard work? Stop despairing and join Melissa for a fun and practical workshop for knitters of all levels. We will explore various methods of correcting mistakes and talk about when to use them. We will also cover clever ways to avoid bigger mistakes and the most common ways to tackle the small ones :)

Homework:

Use 5 mm needles and a light colour of cascade 220- please do not substitute yarn as some substitutions will be too difficult to work with.

Swatch 1: Stockinette Stitch Swatch

Cast on 20 stitches.

Row 1: Knit

Row 2: Purl

Repeat rows 1 and 2, 9 more times.

Do not bind off- keep on spare needle or stitch holder and bring to class with a 6-12" tail of yarn.

Swatch 2: Garter Stitch Swatch

Cast on 20 stitches.

Knit 20 rows.

Do not bind off-keep on spare needle or stitch holder and bring to class with a 6-12" tail of yarn.

Swatch 3: Moss Stitch

Cast on 20 stitches.

Row 1: K1, P1

Row 2: P1, K1

Repeat Rows 1 and 2, 9 more times.

Do not bind off-keep on spare needle or stitch holder and bring to class with a 6-12" tail of yarn.

Materials:

Cascade 220 Worsted and 4.5 or 5 mm needles.
