Class Description:

Longing to complete a lace project but intimidated by the intricate look? Learn basic lace techniques, with tips and tricks that will keep lace knitting fun, and complete this elegant and versatile shawl.

Shaelyn is a triangular shawl knit from the top-down in alternating sections of stockinette and a simple lace motif. Along with the basics, students will also learn the garter-tab start, how to read both written and charted instructions, how to prevent and correct mistakes, and finishing techniques.

Students should know how to cast-on and be comfortable with knit and purl stitches. 


$100 plus materials


Shaelyn Pattern:

5.5mm needles (or size needed for gauge). We recommend using lace tips, such as the Addi Sock Rockets.

330 yards sport-weight yarn (such as SilkyWool, Rowan Felted-Tweed, or Drops Alpaca)
