Description:

Our six week program will introduce knitters to the Fair Isle tradition and the techniques that define it.  While working through Kate Davies’ Paper Dolls, knitters will venture into the world of the i-cord cast on, stranded colourwork, and short row shaping.  Optional charting ideas will be offered for those who wish to customize their design.  This sweater can be worked with long or short sleeves.

Materials:

Enjoy shopping early for this project at Three Bags Full.  There are over 30 colours to choose from in our Harrisville Shetland Wool collection and 24 colours in our Rowan Fine Tweed.   If choosing the paper dolls chart, you will need 3 colours, a main and 2 contrast colours (amounts  will vary according to size of sweater).  Please download your pattern here through Ravelry or here from Kate Davies’ website.  This project requires circular needles in size needed to obtain gauge (between 2.75mm and 4mm depending on yarn and knitting style).    Needles may be purchased after swatching at the first class.
