Description:
Are you a sock knitter who will do anything to avoid grafting toes? Or perhaps you have a hard time getting around to that second sock. Then this workshop is for you. You’ll begin the 4 week workshop by casting on and knitting the toes of both swocks, then learn to knit socks that fit beautifully as you knit along the feet and shape the heels. Before you know it you’ll be casting off at the cuffs–two socks finished at the same time! In this workshop you’ll have the option of knitting either adult size socks or knitting a pair of children’s socks while developing the techniques needed to knit a larger pair for yourself in the future. This class is suitable for those who have knit socks in the round, but experience with socks on circular needles is not required.
Supplies:
2.5 mm Addi Turbo Circular Needles, 40″ long (or size needed to obtain gauge); approx. 210 m (child size) or 420 m (adult size) Merino Sock Yarn such as Koigu, Socks That Rock, Sweetgeorgia Tough Love Sock or Unwind Sock, wound into two equal balls; a bit of slightly thicker waste yarn for practicing cast on; binder with 12 plastic sheet protectors for notes. Venessa’s adult pattern, plus adjustments for the children’s size, is provided.
