Finishing Made Easy and Fun
Saturday mornings, 9 to 11
2012 sessions TBA
Love to knit but hate putting your garment together? Join this class to discover that finishing can be easy and fun (yes fun)! You’ll learn to make planning decisions before even casting on for easier finishing. You’ll learn how to block and why, how to bind off three ways, hide your tails, finish shoulders three ways, pick up stitches for borders, sew side seams using different methods, and many other techniques required to complete your project. Bring all your unfinished garments to class with extra yarn and knitting notions. If you don’t have anything ready to be finished, some pre-class knitting homework will be required to get the most out of this class.
Usual assortment of knitting tools, including sharp and blunt tapestry needles, scissors, seaming pins/clips (accessories may also be purchased at the time of class), unfinished knitting project(s) or practice swatches (see below).
If you don’t have unfinished projects available to work on, ask for our pre-class knitting handout. You’ll prepare a few simple swatches in advance to use for practicing techniques.
