Celebrate with us the 100th year anniversary of Elizabeth Zimmermann’s birth.  Venture beyond beginners and knit EZ’s beautiful February Baby Sweater (have a look at the 4000+ versions on Ravelry!)  This yoked and nearly seamless design combines garter stitch and a lovely lace pattern to create the perfect baby sweater.  You’ll learn top-down sweater construction techniques, shaping and lace stitch patterns, the magic loop method for knitting in the round, button holes, seaming and finishing techniques.

Materials

Approximately 210 yards dk weight yarn (Jamie used Green Mountain Spinnery Alpaca Elegance for the version she knit last month, blogged here, other choices include Rowan Felted Tweed, Elsebeth Lavold Silky Wool or Cool Wool, Berroco Ultra Alpaca, Rowan Calmer ); needles in size required to obtain gauge; darning needle; three buttons.
