We’ve been working on a Zimmermann Pi Shawl

and today we started the lace edging.

The edging is worked side to side, knitting together one stitch from the edging and one stitch from the “Pi”—576 times! OK, this is going to take a while. We can hardly stand the suspense of waiting for the shawl’s transformation with blocking. Ah, well, that’s the excitement of lace. This has been a lovely, peaceful project, knitting round and round and round some more with the springy weighless Blackberry Ridge wool/silk. We’re working with the undyed natural cream but five beautiful new colours arrived today . . .
