We have so many knitted blankets at our house, small ones from when The Girl and The Boy were babies, and bigger sized as they grew.  But you can never have too many blankets, and the kids love bright colours, so we're knitting one in Kauni EQ (the famous rainbow colourway).       We've chosen the Churchmouse  Baby Blanket pattern for this project, with the picot-edge option seen on the right.  We love the springiness of garter stitch knit at a loose gauge (5.5mm needles on the lofty fingering-weight Kauni) and the lacy effect of the picot-edge border.  We'll be using two balls of Kauni for a large "couch-cuddling" blanket.  So far we're 50 grams into a 140 gram ball.
