Years ago, when Three Bags Full existed only in our imagination, we joined the hundreds of knitters who fell in love with Kate Gilbert’s Clapotis and we knit six (maybe more!) versions of the drop-stitch wrap. Most of the scarves, gifted to friends and family, were knit with Lorna’s Laces “Lion and Lamb”, but we have always thought it would be wonderful in Noro Silk Garden. Now, in need of a shop sample, we have revisited the lovely Clapotis and our version in Silk Garden 47 is on the needles.

If you haven’t made a Clapotis, you’re missing the liberating experience of dropping stitches on purpose! And, of course, the finished piece is lovely to wear. Consider making your Clapotis in one of Noro’s bright, Spring-like colourways (our version is a bit dark and wintery, but we started planning it back in November—projects sometimes move slowly at tbf!) Other fun fiber choices: Blue Sky Alpacas Alpaca Silk, Euroflax linen and, of course, the quintessential “Lion and Lamb”. Or try a mini version in sock weight hand-painted Koigu or Lornas Laces.
